It is almost impossible to take a great picture of yourself. You need to get your best representation through someone else's perspective.
Nothing is more unappealing than to see a hot person holding up an iPad shooting a picture of themselves in the mirror. Oh yeah, did I mention that I can see all the dirty clothes on the floor behind you??? If that is the impression that you want to give someone of yourself.....by all means, use an iPhone pic for your profile.

Party and Benefit Pictures: Ever look back through photos of a great party and realize that you are not in any of the pictures? It stinks to host a party and be the photographer at the same time. Most people just accept the fact that they are going to be out of the pictures because they have the camera or they know how to use it. Isn't about time that you enjoyed the party too?
ON LOCATION photography allows you to set the stage anywhere. Have a party at the Drake? Your favorite club? Maybe your group by the beach? Not a problem.
Birthdays and special occasions should be documented. If you have a corporate dinner or event, it's good to document and show your team on your website or Facebook.
Recommendation on party pics. Hire the photographer for no more than 1/2 the time of your party. People get sick of posing for hours. It detracts from the fun. Ask us about appropriate photo times as it corresponds to your event.
